Guide dog users gathered at the
2003 NFBC convention in Sacramento. |
During the 2003 NFBC state convention in Sacramento, the Guide Dog Committee held its annual meeting. At that time it was decided that a division might be more effective than a committee.
Those of us who were present, voted, and it was unanimous that we become a division. We formed a board and decided on a name.
The name of our division is the California Association of Guide Dog Users (CAGDU), and the members of the board are as follows: Juliet Cody, president; Peter Mansell, vice-president; Tina Thomas, secretary; Robert Stigile, treasurer; and Ken Volonte, board member.
The dues for CAGDU are $5. We hope that those of you who are guide dog users, are interested in becoming a guide dog user, or would like to be informed of what we are doing in this newly formed division, will join. Together we will make California a better state for guide dog users.
