Dispatchers

Dispatchers are at the center of our operation at IBM. They are the first link the chain in a call for service and during an emergency call that stretches to the call's completion and ensure that all required tasks get done.  A great deal of organization and multitasking ability are required for this position.

Patricia [Grave Shift Lead Dispatcher - SSD and Western Region] started at IBM as a Gate Officer at the main gate. Her reputation for excellence made her the ideal candidate to fill a dispatch position that opened up in 1997. She is known for her fun loving attitude and meticulous attention to detail.

Sid [Day Shift Lead Dispatcher - SSD] is the primary interface between IBM and dispatch operations. When vehicle license plates need to be run or vehicles need to be towed, he is usually the one who handles this. He began his service at IBM in 1995 and over the years, he has proven himself to be an effective dispatcher.

Jackie [Dispatcher - SSD and Western Region] started out as a gate officer and now works dispatch during the day on Weekends. She is bright and perky and always happy. Jackie is a student at De Anza College who is considering majoring in business or English.

Mohammad [Dispatcher - SSD and Western Region] and I both worked security at Apple Computer in 1995, and coincidentally started working IBM Security within a week of each other. Mo came to America from Iran with his wife in 1977. He owns a 7-11 store in San Jose. Mo had an amazing ability to keep track of multiple situations and tasks at the same time and still remain calm.

Rebecca [EMT at SSD, STL, ARC, and Dispatcher - SSD and Western Region] and Hector [Dispatcher - SSD and Western Region] were testimony to the saying, "when the going gets tough, the tough get going." Swing shift is far and away the busiest time in dispatch and they handled this by functioning well together as a team.  Rebecca is now a dispatcher for San Jose Police Department, and Hector now works for AMD security.
