CATCH OUR DREAMS is coming soon-

Catch Our Dreams is a fundraising event to benefit the National Federation of the Blind of California.  In particular, it was organized to  sponsor Chemistry Camp.  Chemistry Camp is a three day excursion into the world of chemistry.  Coordinated by Hoby Wedler, UC Davis Ph.D. candidate.  During this weekend, high school age blind and visually impaired students learn how to conduct experiments, mix chemicals and prepare for taking a chemistry class in the near future.

Catch Our Dreams is a lunch and auction held at the Courtyard by Marriott in Fairfield, California.  The entertainment this year will be Jamie Clark, singer/songwriter from Napa.  Auction items are bid on and sold at the event.

NFBC Membership Drive-

On June 1, community members will gather to discuss and learn about the philosophy of the National Federation of the Blind.  Persons who are interested in joining us for lunch should be at the Truxton’s Restaurant, 8611 Truxton Avenue, Los Angeles, California  at 11:00 A.M.

Wine Tasting with the Shasta Cascade Chapter-

On Saturday, June 2 Shasta Cascade Chapter President Karen Steele will once again host an afternoon of wine tasting and crafts in the mountains.  This year, there will be six wineries pouring samples and seven vendors selling homemade jewelry and beautiful artwork from the Redding/Shingletown area.  Learn about the work of the National Federation of the Blind of California while you browse exquisite hand-crafted items for sale.

Peter Proscia with IRTI is doing a special presentation on the various assistive technology available with IRTI and we will also have a  chance to have some hands-on experience with these equipment.

Join us for wine tasting and lunch as we bond together by spending some time with each other joking and getting to know each other more.

Empowerment for Blind Parents-

 

Seminar For Parents Who Happen To Be Blind-

 

On Saturday, June 9 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. blind parents will gather at the theater at the California School for the Blind at 500 Walnut Avenue in Fremont, California to learn about their rights as parents and share ideas for tips on techniques for raising children.  Speakers will include a Social Worker who will explain how to protect yourself and your children from unwarranted screwtany from professionals.  There will be door prizes and lunch.

Pasta, Pasta and More Pasta

Join us for a pasta dinner to benefit the San Joaquin Chapter, NFBC from 5-8:pm June 16th.  The band hasn’t been firmed up yet, but there’ll be music for sure and maybe a couple of drawings.

Tickets will be available from members or at the door.  Cost is $15.00 for all the Pasta you can eat.  Now you can’t beat that deal.
