Greetings Fellow Federationists,
 
2013 Scholarships for Blind College Students
National Federation of the Blind of California scholarship applications are now available.  The deadline is September 15, 2013.
 
If you are planning to attend a post-secondary institution or online college in the fall and you are legally blind, you may be eligible for financial assistance.  Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0, be a full time student, and show proof of legal blindness.  Please help us to spread the word about this great opportunity.  For more information, go to:

Pathfinder Chapter President, Rochelle Houston asked me to include the following information:
The Pathfinder Chapter of Los Angeles invites you to come out to our Game Day. We will play bingo, blackjack, LCR, etc. for prizes. We will fire up the grill and slap on hamburgers, hotdogs and all of the fixings. There will also be homemade ice cream and a cupcake bar. Doesn’t that sound scrumptious! Come and test out your voice with a little karaoke. But the most exciting thing of all, we will be holding a raffle of a men’s suit, tie and shirt for only one dollar. Come out and join us for a fun day!

Make Your State Convention Hotel Reservations Now

2013 State Convention Registration
The theme for this year’s state convention is
“Everything Works if You Do”.  Employment, education, and training will be the focus of our convention at the Doubletree by Hilton Sacramento.  Topics will cover job skills and blindness skills, as well as sharing our beliefs that blindness that can be reduced to a mere inconvenience with proper education and training.
 
Please join us on October 11, 12, and 13 to share your experience, strength, and hope.  Registration is now open.
