He grew up as a kid with partial vision, but was always urged to use his remaining vision rather than learn braille or other non-visual techniques. Everette pursued a degree in church music at Dallas Baptist University. He met his wife Angela in college and after graduation, worked to put her through medical school. In 2004, they moved to Utah and Everette was soon hired by the Utah Division of Services for the Blind where he currently oversees service programs. In 2007, he earned his master’s degree in Vision Rehabilitation Therapy from Western Michigan University. Everette is the President of the NFB of Utah and was elected to the National Board in 2015.
